Check out the School Safety Portal

Fresh Start

Welcome to my new site and Life, Me & Finding the Balance.

Fresh start

Today is 28th December, 2018. It is the day I launch my redesigned personal site/blog.

Here you will find all you need to know about me and my businesses and projects. This is the first blog post. I will keep it brief as over the next months and years, I will be sharing more about me and life, and that includes the things I get up to.

Here are the top 3 projects in my life right now.

1. HSEWise

HSEWise is my Safety blog. I started blogging on Safety in 2013.

2. Safe Schools

Safe Schools is a School Safety Initiative I started officially in 2016 but really I started in Summer of 2014 at my mum’s school. They are my guinea pig for all things School Safety. I will share this story and a Safe School’s birth in another blog post soon.

Under Safe Schools, we host;
1. SAFEtagious the yearly Child, Family & School Safety event that brings families and schools together to learn, bond and discuss for on main goal – Child Safety.

2. SAFEtober – International School Safety Month where we getting schools to be intentional about school safety by getting involved in important safety activities

3. School Safety Portal

The School Safety Portal is a premium resource hub for schools who want easy access to courses and resources that will help them become safety complaint fast, easy and afforably. We hope to work with schools in different parts of the world with this platform.

The story behind this new site

I worked on this website myself (surely can’t code but I work with themes and know my way around them. I will share the pretty details soon when I publish my productivity posts). I am pretty awesome with WordPress and have been doing all my websites for years since I started this entrepreneur journey. Af first, it was lack of funds to get a designer. Besides, I discovered I did a better job than many web designers 😎.

2018 has been my busiest year so far so it was only natural to outsource my redesign of my personal website before I use stress to finish myself. I got heavily scammed. Lost money and no website. Fought a little to get my money back but something kept telling me to let it go. So I did after placing a curse on the scammer🙄. Oh yes. I was that angry.

I quickly did a simple website just to house my new book – The Making of a Total School. I wasn’t happy with it but it was serving me OK.

Christmas holiday. I should be resting but mbah (hell no). The workaholic in me reared its pretty head. I have been recording and uploading content to the School Safety Portal which will be available fully from 1st January 2019 – excited about it. You can check it out, and while you’re there, feel free to buy a course 😘 or become a member 😍 for all access and more!

I decided to at same time, finally redesign my website and try out some new stuff I discovered and have been dying to try.

Praise be to God. The website is finally ready!!! It took 2 nights and half a day to get it done. Yep that fast. Yipeeeeeee! I just look at it in serious awe at what patience, determination and the willingness to pay for premium stuff can do🤩. Free certainly has its limits.

Check out my new baby people! Let me know what you think.

P.S. If you need a fabulous website like this and you have a reasonable budget, just holla. I love to get my hands busy especially when it comes to light technology. That is my pension plan for when technology takes over the world.

Watch out for my next blog (Me First) publishing on 31st December, 2018. You will get an error message until it actually goes live so please be patient. Thereafter, it will be a lengthy blog post per month.

Peace out and much love!
Professor Ike

A big thank you for the safety mission you have embarked upon. My views and thoughts about safety have not been the same since I attended your training late last year if I remember clearly.
I'm currently reading your book and slowly digesting each chapter. We are currently reviewing everything and I mean everything at the school including the physical buildings. Safety has become important to me now but according to your book, I need to fully carry all the staff along for maximum effectiveness. Don't also want to do it DIY like Miss Carol anymore. As a result we wish to reach out to professionals like Safe Schools.

This book is apt! The Making of a Total School is surely your priority safety book. A comprehensive summary of what a safe school should be. The reader’s attention will be drawn to something no one seems to talk about. Professor Ike, as she is fondly called, considers catastrophic events in schools, where history suggests that paying lip service cannot prevent such incidents through being reactive alone. She highlighted 7 practical essential elements necessary for achieving a safe school. I was engrossed with the illustrations and captivating stories of the devastating effect of lack of safety in schools.

Undeniably, the only book on safety you would ever need. Professor Ike has written a captivating, highly informational and easy-to-understand piece on a subject area many find confusing. The content of The Making of a Total School can easily become the benchmark for most sectors, and not just schools.
