Not really special

Why do I write these blogs? Sometimes my thoughts are too much for me to keep inside. I write them out. Presently, I have over 600 notes of thoughts, ideas, opinions, you name it. I also keep tabs so I can have enough material for my autobiography, when I decide to write it or when my ... READ the POST

Making 2019 my FEARLESS year

We've all been there. Women at least. It took reading Lean in to realise that my doubts and fears are not unique to me. Infact they are normal, and I can take those bold steps and not let fear cripple me. I can do it all afraid. I stepped into 2019 declaring I was fearless. Half the time, I was ... READ the POST

Praise for my work

Olubusola

A big thank you for the safety mission you have embarked upon. My views and thoughts about safety have not been the same since I attended your training late last year if I remember clearly.
I'm currently reading your book and slowly digesting each chapter. We are currently reviewing everything and I mean everything at the school including the physical buildings. Safety has become important to me now but according to your book, I need to fully carry all the staff along for maximum effectiveness. Don't also want to do it DIY like Miss Carol anymore. As a result we wish to reach out to professionals like Safe Schools.

This book is apt! The Making of a Total School is surely your priority safety book. A comprehensive summary of what a safe school should be. The reader’s attention will be drawn to something no one seems to talk about. Professor Ike, as she is fondly called, considers catastrophic events in schools, where history suggests that paying lip service cannot prevent such incidents through being reactive alone. She highlighted 7 practical essential elements necessary for achieving a safe school. I was engrossed with the illustrations and captivating stories of the devastating effect of lack of safety in schools.

Undeniably, the only book on safety you would ever need. Professor Ike has written a captivating, highly informational and easy-to-understand piece on a subject area many find confusing. The content of The Making of a Total School can easily become the benchmark for most sectors, and not just schools.

Thank you Ike for the informative and enthusiastic induction yesterday. The real workplace incidents and examples that you provided with each topic discussed were very knowledgeable and fun at the same time. It was pleasure to have an induction with you!

The session was interesting and interactive. Ike has a lively and dynamic presentation style. There was a good mixture of learning experiences to develop communication skills and teamwork as well as an understanding of personal safety in different contexts. The content was relevant - some as a useful reminder of personal safety as well as new information to digest. The children and young people were fully engaged and enjoyed the sessions.
